Job ۲۱:۱-۳۴
۱. Then Job spoke again:
۲. "Listen closely to what I am saying. You can console me by listening to me.
۳. Bear with me, and let me speak. After I have spoken, you may mock me.
۴. "My complaint is with God, not with people. No wonder I'm so impatient.
۵. Look at me and be stunned. Put your hand over your mouth in shock.
۶. When I think about what I am saying, I shudder. My body trembles.
۷. "The truth is that the wicked live to a good old age. They grow old and wealthy.
۸. They live to see their children grow to maturity, and they enjoy their grandchildren.
۹. Their homes are safe from every fear, and God does not punish them.
۱۰. Their bulls never fail to breed. Their cows bear calves without miscarriage.
۱۱. Their children skip about like lambs in a flock of sheep.
۱۲. They sing with tambourine and harp. They make merry to the sound of the flute.
۱۳. They spend their days in prosperity; then they go down to the grave in peace.
۱۴. All this, even though they say to God, `Go away. We want no part of you and your ways.
۱۵. Who is the Almighty, and why should we obey him? What good will it do us if we pray?'
۱۶. But their prosperity is not of their own doing, so I will have nothing to do with that kind of thinking.
۱۷. "Yet the wicked get away with it time and time again. They rarely have trouble, and God skips them when he distributes sorrows in his anger.
۱۸. Are they driven before the wind like straw? Are they carried away by the storm? Not at all!
۱۹. " `Well,' you say, `at least God will punish their children!' But I say that God should punish the ones who sin, not their children! Let them feel their own penalty.
۲۰. Let their own eyes see their destruction. Let them drink deeply of the anger of the Almighty.
۲۱. For when they are dead, they will not care what happens to their family.
۲۲. "But who can teach a lesson to God, the supreme Judge?
۲۳. One person dies in prosperity and security,
۲۴. the very picture of good health.
۲۵. Another person dies in bitter poverty, never having tasted the good life.
۲۶. Both alike are buried in the same dust, both eaten by the same worms.
۲۷. "Look, I know your thoughts. I know the schemes you plot against me.
۲۸. You will tell me of rich and wicked people who came to disaster because of their sins.
۲۹. But I tell you to ask those who have been around, and they can tell you the truth.
۳۰. Evil people are spared in times of calamity and are allowed to escape.
۳۱. No one rebukes them openly. No one repays them for what they have done.
۳۲. When they are carried to the grave, an honor guard keeps watch at their tomb.
۳۳. A great funeral procession goes to the cemetery. Many pay their respects as the body is laid to rest and the earth gives sweet repose.
۳۴. "How can you comfort me? All your explanations are wrong!"

Job ۲۲:۱-۳۰
۱. Then Eliphaz the Temanite replied:
۲. "Can a person's actions be of benefit to God? Can even a wise person be helpful to him?
۳. Is it any pleasure to the Almighty if you are righteous? Would it be any gain to him if you were perfect?
۴. Is it because of your reverence for him that he accuses and judges you?
۵. Not at all! It is because of your wickedness! Your guilt has no limit!
۶. "For example, you must have lent money to your friend and then kept the clothing he gave you as a pledge. Yes, you stripped him to the bone.
۷. You must have refused water for the thirsty and food for the hungry.
۸. After all, you think the land belongs to the powerful and that those who are privileged have a right to it!
۹. You must have sent widows away without helping them and crushed the strength of orphans.
۱۰. That is why you are surrounded by traps and sudden fears.
۱۱. That is why you cannot see in the darkness, and waves of water cover you.
۱۲. "God is so great--higher than the heavens, higher than the farthest stars.
۱۳. But you reply, `That's why God can't see what I am doing! How can he judge through the thick darkness?
۱۴. For thick clouds swirl about him, and he cannot see us. He is way up there, walking on the vault of heaven.'
۱۵. "Will you continue on the old paths where evil people have walked?
۱۶. They were snatched away in the prime of life, and the foundations of their lives were washed away forever.
۱۷. For they said to God, `Leave us alone! What can the Almighty do for us?'
۱۸. But they forgot that he had filled their homes with good things, so I will have nothing to do with that kind of thinking.
۱۹. "Now the righteous will be happy to see the wicked destroyed, and the innocent will laugh them to scorn.
۲۰. They will say, `Surely our enemies have been destroyed. The last of them have been consumed in the fire.'
۲۱. "Stop quarreling with God! If you agree with him, you will have peace at last, and things will go well for you.
۲۲. Listen to his instructions, and store them in your heart.
۲۳. If you return to the Almighty and clean up your life, you will be restored.
۲۴. Give up your lust for money, and throw your precious gold into the river.
۲۵. Then the Almighty himself will be your treasure. He will be your precious silver!
۲۶. "Then you will delight yourself in the Almighty and look up to God.
۲۷. You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows to him.
۲۸. Whatever you decide to do will be accomplished, and light will shine on the road ahead of you.
۲۹. If someone is brought low and you say, `Help him up,' God will save the downcast.
۳۰. Then even sinners will be rescued by your pure hands."

Psalms ۹۶:۱-۶
۱. Sing a new song to the LORD! Let the whole earth sing to the LORD!
۲. Sing to the LORD; bless his name. Each day proclaim the good news that he saves.
۳. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.
۴. Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be revered above all the gods.
۵. The gods of other nations are merely idols, but the LORD made the heavens!
۶. Honor and majesty surround him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

Proverbs ۲۳:۶-۸
۶. Don't eat with people who are stingy; don't desire their delicacies.
۷. "Eat and drink," they say, but they don't mean it. They are always thinking about how much it costs.
۸. You will vomit up the delicious food they serve, and you will have to take back your words of appreciation for their "kindness."

Romans ۱۴:۱-۲۳
۱. Accept Christians who are weak in faith, and don't argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.
۲. For instance, one person believes it is all right to eat anything. But another believer who has a sensitive conscience will eat only vegetables.
۳. Those who think it is all right to eat anything must not look down on those who won't. And those who won't eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them.
۴. Who are you to condemn God's servants? They are responsible to the Lord, so let him tell them whether they are right or wrong. The Lord's power will help them do as they should.
۵. In the same way, some think one day is more holy than another day, while others think every day is alike. Each person should have a personal conviction about this matter.
۶. Those who have a special day for worshiping the Lord are trying to honor him. Those who eat all kinds of food do so to honor the Lord, since they give thanks to God before eating. And those who won't eat everything also want to please the Lord and give thanks to God.
۷. For we are not our own masters when we live or when we die.
۸. While we live, we live to please the Lord. And when we die, we go to be with the Lord. So in life and in death, we belong to the Lord.
۹. Christ died and rose again for this very purpose, so that he might be Lord of those who are alive and of those who have died.
۱۰. So why do you condemn another Christian? Why do you look down on another Christian? Remember, each of us will stand personally before the judgment seat of God.
۱۱. For the Scriptures say, "'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow to me and every tongue will confess allegiance to God.'"
۱۲. Yes, each of us will have to give a personal account to God.
۱۳. So don't condemn each other anymore. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not put an obstacle in another Christian's path.
۱۴. I know and am perfectly sure on the authority of the Lord Jesus that no food, in and of itself, is wrong to eat. But if someone believes it is wrong, then for that person it is wrong.
۱۵. And if another Christian is distressed by what you eat, you are not acting in love if you eat it. Don't let your eating ruin someone for whom Christ died.
۱۶. Then you will not be condemned for doing something you know is all right.
۱۷. For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
۱۸. If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God. And other people will approve of you, too.
۱۹. So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.
۲۰. Don't tear apart the work of God over what you eat. Remember, there is nothing wrong with these things in themselves. But it is wrong to eat anything if it makes another person stumble.
۲۱. Don't eat meat or drink wine or do anything else if it might cause another Christian to stumble.
۲۲. You may have the faith to believe that there is nothing wrong with what you are doing, but keep it between yourself and God. Blessed are those who do not condemn themselves by doing something they know is all right.
۲۳. But if people have doubts about whether they should eat something, they shouldn't eat it. They would be condemned for not acting in faith before God. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.
